"Al Legator" is the screen name of a father of two children, a 17 year old son and a 23 year old daughter. (His real name is Derek) He has worked with Scouts, and church youth groups since 1996. He lives in Waterloo,  Ontario, Canada. Around 2003 he began contributing to a few Teen sites like Student Center , and LiveWire in the U.S.A., Teen Support in Canada and Teen Opener (both now gone) in England. He noted that often the same questions kept coming up and thought a website that keeps some information handy would be helpful. He also contributes to the STD section of Yahoo Answers.

He frequently embarrasses his children.

His also wanted to offer the advice of adults with no emotional ties (like your parents may have) and with different experiences and perspective, as well as advice from Teen peers. If he cannot help directly, he will try to research or get in touch with someone who can help.

Note that Al Legator and any other Advisors he asks to help are volunteers and may not always be able to help out or may not be able to respond as quickly as you need.

If you are facing a difficult situation that needs immediate help, try to talk to a trusted adult (often a teacher, religious leader or family member will be a good choice), or if someone's life or safety is in danger, call the police or an emergency "crisis" number. Don't worry about getting someone upset if they are in danger from themselves or from someone else-you can explain later.
